Hi I'm James Kimball, and welcome to James Studio Gallery.

I’m very excited to announce some big changes!
I’ve recently accepted an offer at a well established company. The team I’ll be on is very warm, dedicated to the resulting product and each other. I see this as a long term job, and hopefully it was the last interview of my life.
At this job I will be back in a development environment between 3D design and the technology; much like I was for many years at a company in California that made real-time 3D video technology.
What does this mean for James Studio Gallery? Good news! It’s been fairly dormant since I moved to MN. Due to the short term nature of 3D production work I needed to post my 3D work, shifting the focus of the site from fine art to 3D.
Once I settle in at the new job, my plan is to get back into photography; reverting my website back to its original state and purpose- creating and selling fine art photography.
This will not happen overnight. The new company will spend significant money to relocate my wife and I. As a result, my conscious (and I suspect the team) requires I move from “newbie” to “asset” as quickly as possible, so that is where my focus at for now.
Additionally, I’ll take time to find a home where I can set up a small hobby studio, update to a new camera body, printer, and develop an improved work flow. I look forward to getting involved with the local professional photographer community as well.
Of course I’m not a workaholic; I still have to play, and frankly that is what this site is about… I do this for fun, my family and work come first… but in terms of play I look forward to finish tuning the car; Join the local AutoX club to race at; Get on the Busa to make up for the lost riding during MN winters; Build that arcade cabinet I been saying I’ll do for the last 10 years; Maybe even get back into salt water reef keeping and dabbling in music. I look forward to taking the wife and dog out kayaking in mountains again.
